Outside (2024) is a horror movie mainly set in the Philippines and is directed by Carlo Ledesma. In the movie, we see a family of four where the father, Francis (Sid Lucero) takes on the lead role and tries to keep his family safe during the era of a zombie outbreak as they get to his childhood house. His wife Iris (Beauty Gonzalez) and their sons Josh and Lucas are not only combating the external threats of zombies but also managing internal family difficulties and grief.
The movie does not just focus on the usual killing of zombies Hell, it also contains psychological aspects and looks into the family issues like family members not getting along because of mental issues.Casualties of war do not build character, in this movie however the zombies are characterized with more abilities, including speech and adds a completely new perspective.
This is also the first original movie pertaining to zombies made by Netflix in the Philippines and it was set in Negros Occidental which is famed for its sugarcane fields. This fascinating movie is typical in the sense that it combines zombie action with gripping family drama and brilliant imagery. It was worldwide released on the OTT platform on October 17, 2024.
