Visfot is a Hindi film which will be released in the year 2024 directed by Kookie Gulati who is an Indian director. The cast of the film includes Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Priya Bapat and Krystle D’Souza to mention a few. The movie was released on an OTT platform JioCinema on 6 September 2024.
Plot Overview
The focal point of the plot is two family houses, one is staying in the dirty & overpopulated slums of Mumbai and another one is in a luxurious apartment situated in the skyscraper. Their lives come together in a tragic manner culminating in an explosion. This film brings in the issue of poverty fundamentals and how such deceit and bad choices can affect one and the people around them in a heart-aching manner.
The story progresses with a chain of events whereby it follows a post-explosion incident whereby a man is accused of a crime that he did not commit. While trying to defend himself from the charges, he comes upon a high-level conspiracy that is ready to take away all his loved ones.
Reception
According to critical opinion, Visfot had mixed reactions. Advocates of the film noted the high-quality performances and interesting scenes while others took issue with its pacing and overall execution. Ratings did range, with Filmfare awarding it 3.5 stars based on the emotional core of the movie and the engaging story although there were issues in the execution of the film. However, The Indian Express scored it way further down on the bar indicating that it was just yet another crime thriller without an ounce of creativity.
