Judas Ghost

The film titled “Judas Ghost” is a relative modern horror film that came out in the year 2013 in Britain and was directed by Simon Pearce. The film is adapted from The Ghost Story play and has features of both horror and psychological thriller.

Plot Summary

. A group of researchers seeking out unexplained and paranormal phenomena have been invited to a reputedly haunted site in order to record any supernatural events. In the course of carrying out their work, the teams encounter a particular ghost known as the Judas Ghost. It is said that, this ghost also called Judas is a sinister and evil being that feeds off the fears and the weaknesses of the investigators.

As the story unfolds, the characters must battle not just the ghost but also the demons within them caused by their past experiences. They get more horrid as they try to explicate on how the malevolent spirit came into being and how its emergence has anything to do with them.

Themes

Fear and Paranoia: The subject of the movie is fascinated by problems associated with fear and suggests that it may have many faces and as a result has some repercussions to the relations between the characters as well as the characters state of mind.

Confronting the Past: It is true that every character has not completed part of their story and that is true during the course of the investigation as they get personal disclosures.

The Nature of Evil: Appropriate for this week’s Upper Division Writing Assignment, the film juxtaposes evil in terms of the supernatural, with the notion of its presence among humankind, more especially among the characters.

Reception Trust the critic, the world of “Judas Ghost” is plain boring looking as opposed to the excitement induced by the witty turn of events which captured the audience at the very beginning. Some followers seemed to enjoy its tense atmosphere and character development whereas others considered it lack forgettable horror scares and thrills. There is a niche of the audience who started appreciating this film because its spooky atmosphere and ghost stories are appealing for them.
