Getting Go, the Go Doc Project

The film Getting Go: The Go Doc Project is a pseudo – documentary film made in 2013 that was directed by Cory Krueckeberg. The plot follows a hushed homosexual student of college named Doc (Tanner Cohen) who has a healing passion for a go-go dancer called Go (Matthew Camp). In order to get more intimate with him, the doc has an idea of composing a documentary about New York night life… but more as an excuse to film Go.

The movie follows Go in Doc’s arms and his waking up every day in order to follow Go helps him come out of the shyness far away even from the earlier stage of the work. Gradually, as the project proceeds, the mere fascination gives way to further intimacy, allowing to discover Go for much more than the surface level. The story contains elements of self-identity, self loathing and self acceptance in the busy world of New York Nightclubs.

Getting Go, directed by Cory Krueckeberg, is a film released on March 4, 2013 and has been entered into a number of cinematographic events including Miami International Film Festival and Frameline Film Festival. The film won various awards such as the Honorable Mention Winner at the Seattle LGBT Film Fest.
