Intelligence and patriotism: The supreme intelligence and patriotic feelings of Vasu serve the plot of the film perfectly. It is because he has knowledge of cyber and computer hacking that cyber terrorism is eradicated.

Revenge and Redemption: Vasu’s character development is driven primarily by his quest to avenge his friends, which also motivates him to cross his physical limits.

Romance: Nandini’s and Vasu’s bond introduces a romantic story in the middle of the story, and the relationships with his friends are emotional motivations for him.

The movie tried several elements of stunning a viewer in motion – high-octane action, emotional tightening of the heart and sometimes hearts, and light-hearted romance here and there. The intent is to be a masala entertainer where there is the hope or message of patriotism, technology and of course traditional Bollywood masalas like music and romance.

Action and Visuals

The movie contains several thrill-packed scenes typical of any Bollywood action thrillers with electric shootouts, car chases, and explosions. The character of Vasu also displays technical skills in hacking that he uses to his advantage in eluding his enemies and this helps in keeping the modern aspect of the action scenes in the film.

There are also a few sequences done in a very stylish manner including the use of raining slow-motion techniques during action scenes and hero versus villain in your face action particularly having Nawazudding’s dark character.

Music

The music of Genius is in the hands of Himesh Reshammiya, whose compositions like Tera Fitoor have been well-received. The songs bring the required effect to the romantic and emotional scenes of the film while the background score makes the action scenes more forceful.

Reception

In the eyes of both the critics and the general viewers, Genius has attracted both positive and negative reactions. Among pointers of appreciation, Utkarsh Sharma’s debut performance earned praise owing to his sincerity. On the negative side, the telling of the story had been considered too basic in style, the storyline itself bland, and the direction underwhelming. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance, as the villain, was noted to be among the pluses of the film, bringing out so much energy in his character.

Despite the integration of modern cyber elements to a film that retained the essence of conventional Bollywood, the viewers were not amused as they had anticipated a new dimension to the action thriller landscape. Some appreciation was however received for the violence in the movie and its message of patriotism.

Conclusion

Genius is loaded with action but revolves around the life of a young boy with a super high IQ while spies along with cyber terrorists and patriots hunt him down. The film’s box office earnings were rather poor though it made a debut for Utkarsh Sharma as a main actor, and had few nice moments including music and reputable Nawazuddin Siddiqu as an actor.
