Personal Insights
There must be calm in embracing fear. For somewhere deep within is a human cost that is often overlooked in financial desperation and ethics on the borders of human decency. Youtopia is not an easy film to watch but imparts strong perspective about the circumstances and choices constraining ones humanity. In this regard, Matilda De Angelis has multiple layers as an actor- she is the emotional axis of the film and still knows how to make you think.
Cultural Significance
Societal Issues on OUTLOOK include how far people are willing to go when pushed into financial corners and what kind of market forces can warp someone’s intellect in quite frightening ways. With Youtopia making the case for social justice through the transgression of gaze, it also outlines the patheticness of contemporary capitalism through the domesticity of capitalist structures.
