The Christmas Quest is a 2024 original Hallmark film directed by Dustin Rikert which features Lacey Chabert, as Stefanie Baxter and Kristoffer Polaha as Chase Baxter. The film marks Chabert’s 15th Christmas film for Hallmark Category 1 Movies and also her first time working alongside Polaha as well.
Synopsis
Stefanie Baxter a yule lad treasure hunter heads to Iceland in search of a treasure her mother was never able to get her hands on So that she could finally fulfill her mother’s wish. This plan of hers doesn’t go smoothly as she realises she needs a translator, so counting on her ex husband who is also a expert in ancient Norse translations they embark on the journey together. As they travel through the range of Iceland they come across other people searching for the same treasure and that led to man’s gold grabbing race.

Production
The lovely film was shot in Iceland along with all of its amazing views comprised of Lava caves, waterfalls, and many more. The setting of Iceland added more thrill to the story as there was also a chase for the treasure.
The Icelandic trip added layers to the story and I remember Chabert and Polaha both stating it was an experience they would never forget.
Release and Reception
As part of the Hallmark Channels ‘Countdown to Christmas’ segment, ‘The Christmas Quest’ has started receiving a lot of hype claiming to be a never before seen amalgamation of romance and adventure. This film has been covered by Decider.com and in its report the writer has described the movie as containing “great original story, nice script, solid acting,” especially adding credit to the work of Chabert and Polaha in the film.
