Skelly

Skelly (2023), a family drama, deals with loss, love and how human relationships can offer solace. A little child is made to face the emotional wresting of his father who has lost his father, the child’s grandfather. The family members also set up their annual tradition of – a haunted house during Halloween which serves as a tool for healing. The movie balances between the childish fun that surrounds Halloween as well as the more serious side of grief.

The film also examines the consequences of grief at the heart of a family unit – that is, the father and son bond – and how creating a haunted house together eases the emotional burdens. Brian Cox plays a grandfather while Torrey DeVittois a boy’s mother. The plot combines drama and family entertainment which makes it suitable to be watched by all age groups.

Critics have praised Skelly for its endearing story as the film presents a fair share of laughs as well as emotional scenes. Its running time is 85 minutes and it is classified as suitable for all ages having received a G rating.
