Personal Insights

“Nugget Is Dead: A Christmas Story” is in my view a touching story that deals with family ties and the underlying values that are often stretched during the festive periods. The perfect fusion of comedy and earnestness in the film makes it easy for many people to relate to the plot of the story; in particular, those who have gone back for a family holiday probably appreciate the inner restraining.

Cultural Significance

In placing the action in a small Australian coastal town, it enhances the peculiarities of Australian Christmas culture, speaks about the importance of family, about pets as fully fledged members of the society and self realization standing against family responsibilities.
