New Port South is a movie about youth, self-discovery, and the pressures put on teens by society and the high school that they have to complete. The plot follows Maddox, the school’s rebel leader who, together with his friends, initiates resistance to the school’s governmental regime. The younger generation’s sense of frustration with any kind of authority is conveyed. The film touches on other important subjects as well, for example, the issues of mental health and institutionalization, and intends to spark healthy conversation about the necessity of self-actualization and problems of modern teens.
