I Don’t Love You Anymore

I Don’t Love You Anymore (Czech, Už tě nemám rád) is a drama film that was released in 2023 and is a work of both direction and script by Zdeněk Jiráský. The film engages with alienation and emotional conflicts of one of the most affected social groups, Gen Z, depicted in two characters Marek and Tereza, both teenagers.

Marek is only 13 years old, shoots videos touching on social problems and remains an outcast at school. He is an introvert, and the absence of his father’s affection and presence is filled with his mother’s new boyfriend. At this delicate moment, he gets to know an intriguing girl Tereza from the different social environment, and soon they begin such an innocent relationship that nearly gets out of control — Tereza undergoes a fictitious abduction which leads them to go on a runaway trip together. While the two experience their own emotions and freedom, Marek starts losing hope and feeling isolated that makes him doubtful of what they are trying to achieve.

Daniel Zeman, Maisha Romera Kollmann, Anita Krausová and other actors had parts in this film. It is funded by companies from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania and was shot in those countries too.
