El Bosque de Karadima (2015) goes deep into the life of Fernando Karadima, a priest from one of the most influential parishes of Santiago, Chile, and collaterally, the life of some acknowledged mem bers of the Chilean society in scandalous detail. The film tries to approach the issue of manipulation, power abuse, and sexual misdemeanors from the standpoint of a fictional character, Thomas, who has been a victim of such practices throughout his life. Thomas as a devoted disciple, tries to resolve the psychological wounds caused by the abusive behavior and the sight of the priest’s abuse and those who enabled him. The degree of argumentation in this film is in the fact that it demonstrates how Karadima was protected by his position in church which ensured that the secrets of his criminal activities were continued for a considerable amount of time.
