Cirque du Soleil: Corteo

Cirque du Soleil: Corteo is a taped version of the live cirque show Corteo, first staged in 2005. The show and the movie both direct the audience’s attention to Mauro (the clown) who has hopes and fond memories. He sees his own funeral as a story where the people come together for festivities and not sorrow, that is the corteo. In essence, the audience sees a blend of acrobatics, circus, and comedy as with any other specialization from Cirque du Soleil.

In terms of aesthetics, Corteo is infused with the European picturesque rendition of the carnival ambiance through the breathtaking imagery, intricate backdrops, and painstakingly crafted costumes authentically associated with the classic eras. An imaginative mix of the moving stage and Corteo’s delicious scenery instantly transports the audience back to Mauro’s magical world filled with juggling entertainers and athletes soaring and performing what he adores about their world the most- hope and love.

The Corteo film is an attempt to reproduce the atmosphere and closeness of the show, the delicate creation of Cirque du Soleil’s intelligence can be appreciated in a different light. The depiction of the times at the show is preserved, and new cuadro augmentates the stylistic features which were presented earlier – honor and joy in the presence of death and its beauty portrayed through excellent physical activities and gorgeous frames.
