The Legend (2024) is an enthralling fantasy adventure film which is directed by Stanley Tong, who is not unfamiliar with Jackie Chan as he has worked with him in the past. The movie almost stands as a continuity to the 2005 film The Myth. The movie follows Chan’s character, an archaeologist and an adventurist, who travels ancient history and time and engages in a great deal of fights with historical warriors and various other mythical beasts.
The storyline is quite particular, as it exhibits time travel, fictional aspects, as well as Jackie Chan’s trademark infused martial arts combat. Zac Efron and Lay Zhang Zhang Yixing appear in the movie as Olympian characters in the role of an archer, slinging arrows, which only adds further to the action involved in the movie. Gulnezer is an Uyghur actress who is cast as the main heroine on the opposite side of Jackie Chan. Many viewers who followed the movie were displeased with the age gap between Chan and his co-star, reportedly from the story where the characters are involved romantically.
There were multiple places of shooting, and so it comes as no surprise to see large production sets cater to such a movie. This will be offered to people who have an appreciation for fancy action films if mixed with Jackie Chan’s humorous take on fighting scenes accompanied with action.
