Look Back is a film that has PG-13 rating, directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama. Primarily based on the one-shot Manga by the well-renowned, the author who came on board short after Chainsaw Man, Tatsuki Fujimoto. Follows the life of high schooler, Ayuma Fujino who is talented both artistically and in creating comics, receives national attention. Her story takes a twist when she is grouped with the antisocial Kyomoto for a group project in class. At first, she is infuriated by Kyomoto’s incredible artworks and despises the girl for that but becomes one of her closest friends as they work on a manga about creation and the struggle of being an artist.
The movie was first released in Japan in June, 2024 and has received positive reviews for its plot and quality artwork praising the painful developments as an artist. Studio Durians animated the film Kiyotaka Oshiyama took care of character design and screenplay.
Regarding the movie’s theatrical release, Look Back screening was held in the US starting from 6th October 2024 in the number of theaters including New York and Los Angeles. The total runtime is approximately fifty-three mins where the end credit song “Light Song” performed by harukua nakamura was used.
