The Don’s Analyst is a thrilling drama about the underbelly of the mafia, in particular, the relationship between the mafia head and his psychologist. It usually contains issues of loyalty, rejection and the inner turmoil of the hooligan and his ‘doc’ as well.
The plot, one rarely comes across, usually proceeds so that the doctor is in charge of the crime boss, infamously immersed in his own accomplishments and constantly surrounded by criminals and crime. The picture delves into the psychology of a violent person and how violence and crime ineluctably separate the individual from his desires. There is always a stage of wanting power and the greater conflict of wanting to live a normal life. The interaction between the two brings the issue of values, principles and humanity tu critical review.
As the story unfolds, the analyst gets pulled into the more sinister side of the gangster’s world, internally questioning their own morals. The confrontation moments in the film are also explosive as both characters are trying to cope up with their past actions which define them. Watching The Don’s Analyst also brings forward the psychological discussion of why we do the things we do, making it especially fascinating for those who enjoy crime or dramatic thrillers.
